Mission

As animal advocates, we're keenly aware of how overwhelming rescue efforts can feel. We're striving to be a part of the solution by engaging in the work ourselves and supporting others that do the same.

Team

We're a growing organization filled with people who have been dedicated to the care of animals for many years. We're trappers, foster parents, colony feeders, pet owners, and more!

Champions of Rescue was founded and is run by husband-and-wife team Tyler Gardner and Candace Greggs-Gardner.

Adoption partner

We're excited to be partnered with Elizabeth City's first cat cafe, The Mews 252, owned by Jennifer Podrasky! The Mews is located at 1537 N. Road Street in Elizabeth City, where you can stop in to visit with our adoptable cats, as well as take a break in the cafe with a hot tea and sweet treat, or just grab a cold drink to go. We also have many special events coming up at the cafe!
