Saving cats & kittens in Northeast North Carolina!
Champions of Rescue was founded in May 2023 and became a registered 501(c)3 non-profit in 2024. Located in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, we work year-round to reduce the feral cat population in our community by participating in trap-neuter-release programs, socializing cats willing to live the indoor life, and running a strong adoption program that found homes for more than 30 kitties in our first six months of operations. We are now partnered with our local cat cafe, The Mews 252, and you can visit our kitties that are looking for homes there!
We believe in support and collaborative effort and we regularly work with several fellow rescue organizations in our area. We take in owner surrenders, backyard surprise kittens, and those in danger of being euthanized in overwhelmed shelters. We firmly believe that every feline deserves a friend (and a forever family)!
Kitten Season Preparedness Operation!
Kitten season has started and will continue throughout the warm months of the year. In 2024, we took in 36 kittens from April through September and expect even bigger numbers this year. Here are the ways you can help us care for these adorable little gremlins!

and Chewy wishlists, found on the Donate page. We especially need food!
Monetary donations can be made using the donation form. Donate $5 or more to receive kitten updates, all season long!
All adoptions are half off! Help us make room for kittens by adopting one of our sweet cats and older kittens.
If you're an Elizabeth City local, you can drop off donations at The Mews 252, located at 106A N. Poindexter Street.

Help us purchase supplies for the many kittens we'll have coming through our doors this spring and summer! Donors who contribute $5 or more will receive updates on at least one kitten we take in during the 2025 season. All donations are tax deductible (and so appreciated)!
